I have continued to be true to this experiment all week, though I have not checked in. My blood pressure remains low and I will update that soon.
Monday I had a killer headache. I heard that is a classic sign of detox about a week in. Tuesday it was much better thankfully and I haven't had any other major detox issues.
I have been too busy to try a lot of the recipes I have planned, but fresh salads, fruit smoothies, and my trusty avocado's haven't let me down!
I am getting a little anxious about my rapid weight loss, though I have read that is also normal. I have lost 2 more pounds this week so far, I am now down to 108 (starting weight was 115). I am not doing this to lose weight. I am going to focus on eating more fats to increase my calories. I have not felt hungry in this at all or deprived. If I was doing this to lose weight this would definitely be the way to go... all the yummy juicy food and I can eat and the pounds melting away! I haven't made it to my workout all week, though I have been running around like crazy with all my daily chaos and business meetings and events.
This weekend will be challenging due to my mom's wedding and Mother's Day. I am not going to be militant about things, I knew these dates were coming. I plan to stay mostly raw if not all, but if I decide to indulge in a treat it will be just that. If I am going to realistically adopt this lifestyle for the sake of my health I need to give myself room for occasional treats if I desire.
...the Me God knitted together ...the Me underneath the health issues ...the Me capable of living to the fullest potential that God blessed me with and desires for me to use.. ...to live, love, and laugh... ALL TO HIS GLORY!

Don't get too much fat.. even raw fat is fat. Have you read Dr. Graham's 811 stuff? www.foodnsport.com.
I find it easy to get too much fat. LOL...
How tall are you? Dr. Doug says 100 lbs for your first 5 feet, then 3 to 5 lbs for each inch over. So at 122, I'm still about 10 lbs overweight, almost 10% of my ideal body weight which is a BIG deal healthwise.
That said, I'm about 75-90% raw...
I am 5'4 ½... I think I am underweight at this point.
Ew, not the chili!!!! ;)
Just remember, everything you think you know about protein is tainted by what has been taught as fact but is not necessarily fact. I worked at WIC, the mother and child nutrition program, and had to do a lot of training in nutrition (even after the college courses in nutrition I had). Americans eat way too much protein, and WAY too much animal protein. Animal protein is NOT better than plant protein. Raw, ripe fruit is a complete source of protein-- and it has about the same amount of protein as HUMAN BREASTMILK. Now, it's obvious that a newborn baby has a higher protein need than a grown adult, per weight. Babies grow so fast, doubling their weight in 4 to 6 months! If human breastmilk for a newborn has only 4-10% protein, then a grown adult does not need more than that.
Are you keeping a food diary? I recommend Fitday or Sparkpeople because you can automatically generate a report showing you how many calories, how much % protein, how much fat, etc. Even potassium. BTW... make a smoothie with ripe banana and 4 cups spinach or other dark leafy green for a high potassium, high calcium, high calorie, quick snack. I like to add fresh squeezed orange juice or something, and you'll need water to process it smoothly.
